Wired Productions’ post says the decision was made based on “a number of factors” that were exacerbated by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has forced companies like PlayStation to install work from home policies. The publisher said it has “a duty to our players and to our teams,” and had to make the “difficult decision” to end development on the Switch port.

While fans of the game and those who were looking forward to spacefaring adventures on the go may be disappointed, Wired Productions says that “other missions have only just begun” and there will be news to share in the future. Anyone who preordered the game on Switch can contact their retailers to cancel the order, and luckily there are other avenues to play the game — it was also added to Xbox Game Pass in April.

Though Deliver Us The Moon is no longer coming to Switch, there are plenty of other Switch ports on the horizons alongside its line-up of first-party games. For instance, ZA/UM’s award-winning Disco Elysium will also be ported onto the Switch sometime soon.

Deliver Us The Moon is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
